Beyond IITs: Mastering BITSAT and NATA
The road ahead can feel like a straight road when a student leaves high school with a vision of the future—a vision of building it with a high-tech, state-of-the-art technology project, or an awe-inspiring physical structure. But apart from the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), there are two other prestigious courses that pave extraordinary ways of entering the field: BITSAT for premium and private engineering, and NATA for the creative and specialized Architecture.

4. Getting ready for NATA – Creativity meets Logic.
The NATA preparations are completely different from all engineering exams. It needs a portfolio of practice as well as spatial understanding and a knowledge of architecture of the past.
- Drawing and Perspective: Candidate should be able to visualize in 2D and 3D. It is important to learn perspective drawings, shadow mapping, scale and proportions. There is no "cram" for this, it takes practice to learn to sketch every day.
- General Knowledge (Architecture): NATA often asks about famous monuments, renowned global architects (such as Zaha Hadid or Le Corbusier) and the basic building materials.
- AI as a Design Assistant: AI image generators can be amazing sources of inspiration, such as Midjourney or DALL-E. In the exam, you'll need to create your 3D drawings manually, but in practice, AI can be useful to get a quick, visual sense of complicated 3D entities from various angles and prepare your spatial thinking. AI language models can also be used to rapidly summarize the architectural styles of different historical periods.
